Their derangement isn't a joke. It's a threat to my life, and possibly yours.
American politics have entered a dangerous era of derangement, despotism and demagoguery.
I’m running for Congress against Lauren Boebert because her behavior at last night’s State of the Union is the cancer that’s killing America.
A vocal minority have hijacked the national (and, judging from Ukraine, global) discourse on civil rights, nationalism, terrorism, and the continued assault on disenfranchised communities.
I belong to one such community. When Lauren Boebert stands up and defiles the democratic institution as she did last night, I don’t see a punchline. I see the eradication of communities I hold dear. I see a White Supremacist advance on our ideals and our loved ones. I see the beginnings of a political cancer which will leave death — not metaphorical death; death — in its wake.
I am running a blitzkrieg campaign against Lauren Boebert because, in contrast with your opinion that she can be taken out another way, she cannot.
No fewer than 13 other candidates have announced their candidacies against Boebert in the last 12 months. All have been crushed. None made the national press. CO-03 is a militantly red district. It's R+11, which places odds of a Democratic victory at 0.0014%. I feel the stakes of our fight against Boebert & Trumpian hatred every time I'm called a homophobic slur in my home district, which, since the election of Donald Trump, is frequently.
In short, the soul of America can be found in CO-03. And the cancer plaguing America is Lauren Boebert. The fall of 13 candidates before me, combined with my campaign's surge to relevance with over half a million people in under 3 days, cast doubt on the notion that there is a pleasant way to defeat someone as uniquely hateful and emboldened as Lauren Boebert.
There is no pleasant way to exercise the cancer that is Lauren Boebert.
We must fight. And we must fight now.

To govern, we must win. Sometimes winning is ugly. But it's a hell of a lot prettier than Ukraine. Or Lauren Boebert’s defilement of American values. Or the eradication of disenfranchised communities like mine, and like yours.

I’m not running for office because it’s fun. I hate this shit. It’s absolutely miserable. In the past week I’ve been threatened, accused of pedophelia, harassed online, told by family that they’re disappointed in me. Trust me: this sucks. But the fight is worth it.
